Artem Yatsunov is a Theatre maker, Writer, Performance artist and Educator creating live performances around the country. Artem develops new work and creates theatrical experiences for audiences who mistakenly think they don't like theatre.
Artem is the Co-Founder of StrangeDog Theatre (est. 2008), called "very raw, very present" by the New York Times.
Artem frequently collaborates with Modesto Flako Jimenez, Kevin Torres, and The Oye Group - an artistic collective made up of native and immigrant New Yorkers.
The Oye Group's work on gentrification was featured in American Theatre Magazine.
As an Educator, Artem leads writing workshops, devised theater and storytelling programs in professional residencies across NYC and beyond. His work is deeply influenced by his experience as a multilingual Ukrainian immigrant. Artem has taught with the Two River Theater, Creative Arts Team, Town Hall, Stella Adler Studios, School For Excellence, Morris Campus, and has been a part of educational programs at Writopia Labs NYC, Luna Stage Theater, and the Playwrights Theater of NJ.
